Ljusklotet in Cést Bon Anthology
One page (page 9), one of the key scenes from my comic "Ljusklotet" has been published in the latest issue of Cést Bon Anthology, vol.22. The theme of the issue is Singularity and the science ficton is the theme of most of the other works in the magazine.

Album cover Gilbert Holmström New Quintet
I am proud to show this album-cover for the legendary saxophonist Gilbert Holmström's record "Tiden är kort". I have painted the paradise landscape that the musicians sit in. The other musicians on the album are Jonas Kullhammar, Magnus Broo, Torbjörn Zetterberg and Jonas Holgersson.
The oil painting is approximately 90x30 cm and the album will be printed as a digipack, so the album cover is just 1/3 of the whole painting. This was a fun commission, because the motive had to be so rich, and colorful. Jonas Kullhammar, on Moserobie, wanted a painting of a paradise, with many animals and a lot of different plants and trees and a place in the picture to put the photo of the musicians. But beside that I had a lot of freedom to compose the picture the way I wanted to. It was fun to study all the various plants and flowers and to draw and paint them right. In this vision of paradise there is a mix of animals from different places of the world, so that gave me the liberty to combine the zebra with the brown bear, for example.
The album will be released on Moserobie Music production in late august!

The text is about the election in Pakistan last weekend. The man in the left part of the picture is Nawaz Sharif, a Pakistani politician and industrialist who, after his party won the elections of 11 May 2013, is expected to serve as the next Prime Minister of Pakistan. However, many of the young, the educated and the female voters voted for Imran Khan, who represent the party PTI, who many see as more progressive and modern.

"Ja, jeg elsker" illustration to a column in Ny Tid, written by Victoria Uwonkunda. This column was published yesterday, one week before the Norwegian Constitution Day (17 may).
This was a quite challenging assignment, partly because of time pressure (the magazine had to be sent to print one day earlier because of kristi himmelsfärds-dagen), but also, the subject was a bit hard to summarize in a picture. It's an interesting topic, but a little difficult to encapsulate so I recommend you to read it yourself!

Poster - Mats Dimmings graduation concert!
This was a picture that I think was very fun to do, because Mats and I worked out the design together. Another nice thing is that Mats, Måns Allroth and Robert Henriksson, will play on my exhibition, at Gallery 39, May 24!

I'm working on the cover-art for the new album by Gilbert Holmström and his new quintet. The album will be released on Moserobie Music Production. The title of the album will be "Tiden är kort". The painting is a work in progress.

Dave Brubeck
illustration for Orkesterjournalen #1 2013.
The jazz pianist and composer Dave Bruebeck died in december last year, at 92, and I made this portrait for an article about him in the latest issue of Orkesterjournalen.
I got the disc Time Out, from a friend from school and I've liked it ever since I listened to it the first time. Above all, the beautiful composition "Strange Meadowlark", which starts with a long piece of solo piano.

So it was sad to hear of Dave Brubeck's death in december last year. But I thought it might be nice to do some kind of tribute to him, in picture form. It all resulted in a picture that is now published with an article in Orkesterjournalen # 1 2013
The picture on the front of Time Out is painted by S.Neil Fujita (who made many album covers, including Charles Mingus' Mingus Ah Um ") and I painted a part of the painting, as a background for the illustration.
